He began his career as a petroleum geologist with Union Texas Petroleum and TotalEnergies.

His background includes roles at Young America Capital, Interim President and CRO of a venture-backed manufacturer, and earlier work in large-scale energy development and subsea engineering with Transocean and Seadrill. He holds an MBA in Finance from Boston University and a B.S. in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
